During the past forty years, Community
Action of Napa Valley (formerly
NCCEO) has administered a wide
variety of health and human service
programs to benefit low-income people.
Our goal has been to increase the
self-determination and self-sufficiency
of individuals and families who are
economically disadvantaged or are
senior citizens.
A diverse twelve-member voluntary
Board of Directors sets policy for CANV,
which provides Napa Valley Child and
Family Support Services. The board
consists of four public sector, four
private sector and four low income
representatives.
CANV’s central administration provides
program oversight, financial accountability, and human resource services
to the agency’s programs.
Community Action of Napa Valley is
also the coordinating and fiscal agent
for the San Francisco Chronicle’s Season
of Sharing Fund for Napa County. This
fund provides one-time grants for
housing assistance and critical family
needs.
CAN-V is a California Community
Action Organization founded May 12,
1965 as a private, nonprofit, tax-exempt
corporation.
